Session 1 – Pitching and Defense
The morning session will focus on pitching and defense.Pitching commences with a mechanics talk/demonstration then moves to all pitchers throwing a simulated 3 inning bullpen with supervision, consultation and coaching from professional scouts.The pitching segment ends with a Q & A session on the mental game and the scouting/recruitment process. Catchers begin with a mechanics talk/demonstration with hands on training that focuses on blocking, framing and throwing.The catchers will also participate in the simulation bullpens.Infielders and outfielders will begin with a mechanics demonstration focusing on proper throwing and fielding techniques.The defensive segment ends with an extensive pro infield/outfield that includes a little competition.
Session 2 – Hitting and Offense
The afternoon session focuses on the offensive part of the game. Each camper will rotate between hitting, bunting and base running stations.Each player will take a large number of swings with immediate feedback from pro instructors.The fundamentals of a sound swing that generate maximum bat speed at the point of contact are emphasized.A balance between power and contact will be highlighted. The offensive session concludes with an intense cage baseball game (and winners will be crowned).

John Stewart Full-time Professional Scout Atlanta Braves. Played college baseball at Georgia Tech and signed with the Braves as a 24th round pick in 1986. Has been a scout for the Braves since 1992.
